The apartment is on Nguyễn Thái Bình 2 street in the centre of District 1, the historic core of Ho Chi Minh City, where the streets are lined with cafés, restaurants and small shops. Ben Thanh Metro Station and Ben Thanh Market, the large covered market known for its food stalls and souvenirs, are both 400 m away. The Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts Museum, which has a collection of Vietnamese painting and sculpture, is 150 m away, and the Chùa Phụng Sơn pagoda is 400 m away, so the nearest sights are a few minutes' walk from the front door.
Tan Son Nhat International Airport is 5.9 km away and Saigon Railway Station, the southern terminus of the north-south railway, is 2.8 km away, so taxis are the simplest way to reach either from the centre. Ben Thanh is also the start of Metro Line 1, which runs north-east to Suoi Tien in Thu Duc, and the line can be reached on foot in about five minutes.
District 1 holds many of the sights that visitors come for. The Museum of Ho Chi Minh City, which covers the history of the city from its early settlements to the present, is 700 m away. Nha Rong Wharf and Bach Dang Wharf Park, both 700 m away, sit on the bank of the Saigon River, a pleasant place for a late-afternoon walk. Nguyen Hue walking street and Dong Khoi are in the same district, while Crescent Lake, 5.2 km away in Phu My Hung in the south of the city, is better reached by taxi.
